2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty
TruckPro Expert Review
Outstanding Heavy-Duty Workhorse
The 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty continues to set the standard for heavy-duty pickup trucks with exceptional towing capacity, robust build quality, and impressive powertrain options. Whether you're hauling equipment to a job site or towing a large trailer, the F-250 delivers the capability and confidence you need.
Performance & Capability
The F-250 Super Duty offers three powerful engine options: a 6.8L V8 gas engine producing 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque, a high-output 7.3L V8 gas engine with 430 hp and 485 lb-ft, and the legendary 6.7L Power Stroke turbo diesel V8 delivering 500 hp and an astounding 1,200 lb-ft of torque. The diesel engine is the clear choice for maximum towing capacity, rated up to 22,000 lbs when properly equipped.
Interior & Comfort
Inside, the F-250 offers a surprisingly refined cabin for a heavy-duty truck. Higher trims feature leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, and a premium sound system. The crew cab configuration provides ample space for five adults, with generous legroom in both rows. Storage compartments are plentiful, including under-seat storage and a large center console.
Technology & Features
Ford's SYNC 4 infotainment system comes standard with a 12-inch touchscreen (8-inch on base models), Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available navigation. The available Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes maneuvering trailers significantly easier, while the 360-degree camera system provides excellent visibility around the truck's large footprint.
Towing & Payload
This is where the F-250 truly excels. With a maximum towing capacity of 22,000 lbs and payload capacity up to 4,260 lbs, it can handle the most demanding commercial applications. The integrated trailer brake controller, trailer sway control, and available fifth-wheel/gooseneck prep package make it an ideal choice for serious towing needs.
Fuel Economy
As expected with a heavy-duty truck, fuel economy is modest. The diesel engine achieves approximately 15-18 mpg combined, while the gas engines return 13-16 mpg. However, given the truck's capabilities, these figures are competitive within the segment.
Bottom Line
The 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty remains the benchmark in the heavy-duty pickup segment. Its combination of raw capability, refined interior, and advanced technology makes it an excellent choice for commercial operators and serious recreational towers alike. While it's not cheap, the F-250 delivers exceptional value for those who need its impressive capabilities.

Best Work Truck I've Ever Owned
I use this truck daily for my construction business, and it's been absolutely flawless. The diesel engine has incredible torque for towing our equipment trailers, and the interior is comfortable enough for long drives to job sites. The technology features like the backup camera and trailer assist are game-changers. Fuel economy is decent for what it is. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a serious work truck.

Perfect for My Business Needs
We needed a reliable truck for our landscaping business, and the F-250 has exceeded expectations. It handles our trailer loaded with equipment without breaking a sweat. The crew cab gives us plenty of room for the team, and the bed is spacious for materials. The XLT trim has all the features we need without unnecessary luxury add-ons. Great value for a work truck.

Great Towing, But Pricey
We use this to tow our 35-foot fifth-wheel RV, and it handles it beautifully. The diesel engine provides plenty of power even in mountain passes. The King Ranch interior is luxurious and comfortable for long trips. My only complaint is the price - it's expensive, especially with all the options we wanted. Also, the ride can be a bit rough when not towing. Overall, it's a solid truck if you need the capability.
